Your route through HackUP
- 01
Apply and confirm
Create an account, verify your email, and submit your application when applications open. Acceptance is not the final step: confirm your place by the organizer's deadline.
Application workspace → - 02
Find your crew
Create or join a team, check your participant badge, and review arrival instructions. Your portal shows the next action available in the event's current phase.
Team workspace → - 03
Build and document
Choose relevant tracks, describe the problem and your solution, and add demo and repository links. Save a draft as you build. Finalize before the submission deadline; a draft alone is not a submission.
Project workspace → - 04
Demo, reflect, celebrate
Be ready at your assigned expo table. Show what works, explain limitations, and answer judges' questions. Organizers review coverage, conflicts, and award eligibility before publishing results.

Agent connections
HackUP agent tools unlock after you are accepted for the current event. A connection never grants a new event role. Staff and organizers keep their approved access controls.
Project draft tools, draft editing, and cover uploads open only after hacking starts, while the event permits submissions and before the deadline. Your agent can help prepare a draft; your team captain must review and finalize the submission in the project workspace. A saved draft is not a final submission.
The native Sites connection uses your ChatGPT identity. Signing in to HackUP with email or Google does not by itself provide that connection. Public ChatGPT plugin setup and Claude connector instructions are planned after the domain change; setup instructions are not available yet.
Review project workspaceGood questions
Before you set sail
Do I need to be an experienced programmer?
No. HackUP brings together people who code, design, research, and solve problems. First-time hackers and different disciplines belong here. Your project should make clear what your team built and learned.
When and where is the next event?
Dates to be announced. University of Portland, Portland, Oregon. Venue details to be announced.
Who can attend, and what does it cost?
Final eligibility, admission, and fee details to be announced.
How do teams work?
The current event configuration allows 1 to 4 members per team. After acceptance and confirmation, create or join a team through your portal when team changes are open. Each participant must use their own account.
Can I bring an existing project or use AI tools?
Disclose prior work, reused assets, libraries, and AI assistance in your submission. Clearly distinguish what you built during the event. Read the published participation rules and track brief for any additional restrictions.
What should I bring?
Bring your laptop, charger, and what you need to demonstrate your project. Watch for the arrival instructions and any required identification. Food, hardware access, overnight arrangements, and travel support will be confirmed by organizers; do not assume they are included.
What about food allergies or special diets?
Unfortunately, HackUP cannot provide special food accommodations for individual allergies or specialty diets. We cannot guarantee allergen-free food or prevent cross-contact. Please plan to bring food that meets your needs.
How do I request an accommodation or report a concern?
Use the restricted accommodation field in your application or contact hackup-team@outlook.com. Do not put medical or other sensitive information in public project descriptions. During the event, report urgent safety concerns directly to venue staff.
Will my project, resume, and photos be public?
A project becomes public only after the publication workflow. Resume or sponsor sharing and media consent are separate choices. Your application and judges' private notes are not part of the project gallery. Review the privacy and media policies before submitting.
